About Me

I am a Senior Research Fellow and a faculty member at the BRAC Institute of Educational Development (BRAC IED), BRAC University, Bangladesh. My academic qualifications and research experiences are varied and span in several different countries around the world. I obtained three master’s degrees in the field of Biological Sciences, Resource Management and Educational Assessment, Measurement and Evaluation from Bangladesh, Norway and Australia respectively. In addition to these, I have obtained my Ph.D. degree at the Faculty of Education, University of Canterbury, New Zealand. Besides, I received certification in mathematical biology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA and worked as a visiting scholar for one year at the University of Aberdeen, UK. In my academic career, I have been able to publish more than 15 articles in peer reviewed journals, six monographs and working papers, two book chapters, and was awarded with several scholarships and research grants. I have supervised many students in their master’s thesis at the Early Childhood Development program and have been instrumental in developing the short course in Quantitative Methods in Education and Project Management and Evaluation. Before, joining in academia, I successfully piloted a volunteering tutoring program for the underprivileged first-generation secondary school students which has now been scaled up across Bangladesh. At present, I have been working on several research projects on different types of remotely delivered services and their impact on early childhood development and parental mental health and wellbeing.
